Who this workbook is for

The 100th day of school is a big day in many US kindergarten and first-grade classrooms. Children count to 100, wear crowns and collect 100 small things, and counting by tens starts to make sense. This workbook gives you printable pages for that day, and it works just as well on any other day you want to practice counting to 100.

It is written for ages 4 to 7, which is about pre-K through first grade. Younger children can trace the numbers and color the stars, and older children can fill in missing numbers and work with tens and ones. The 100th day falls on a different date in each school, so count the school days from your first day to find yours. For more number practice, try the number tracing 1–100 worksheets and the color by number worksheets.

The number 100 and the hundred chart (pages 4–7)

Page 4 shows how to write 100 with a start point and an arrow for each stroke, beside ten rows of ten dots that show why 100 is ten tens. Children trace the number and the words “one hundred”. Page 5 is a full hundred chart with each row of ten in its own color. Pages 6 and 7 are the same chart with empty boxes, 20 on the first page and 40 on the second, for your child to fill in.

Skip counting (pages 8–11)

Page 8 traces the tens (10 to 100) as numerals, and page 9 traces the tens as words, from ten to one hundred. Page 10 fills in missing numbers when counting by 5s and by 10s, and also counts backward from 100 by 10s. Page 11 counts by 2s all the way to 100.

Tens and ones (pages 12–14)

Page 12 is a grid of 100 stars for your child to color one row of ten at a time. Page 13 shows rows of dots and asks how many there are altogether, and page 14 shows tens as tall rods and ones as small squares, so children can build numbers such as 2 tens and 3 ones. The answers to pages 6, 7, 10, 11, 13 and 14 are printed upside down at the bottom of the page.

Dot to dot, writing and the crown (pages 15–19)

Page 15 is a dot-to-dot star that counts by 10s from 10 to 100. Pages 16 and 17 have a drawing box and writing lines for “If I had 100…” and “When I am 100 years old…”. Page 18 has two crown strips to cut out, color and tape together, and page 19 is a certificate for 100 days of learning.

How to use this workbook

Print and start with page 4

Choose US Letter or A4 and print at 100% (Actual size). Type a page range such as 4-7 to print only those pages.

Count out loud

Point to each number and say it as you go. Counting by 10s is easier with a hundred chart in front of you.

Collect 100 things

On the 100th day, gather 100 cereal pieces, buttons or pennies and count them into ten piles of ten. Then try the “ten tens” star page.

Fill in the missing numbers

Start with the 20-box chart and move to the 40-box chart when your child is ready. Check the answers printed upside down at the bottom.

Celebrate

Cut out the crown, fill in the certificate and talk about what your child will do in the next 100 days.
